How to Enter a Blog Giveaway

I realize that some people are interested in entering the handmade Giveaway features on Sweet Harper, but are not really sure how to do it...so, without further ado...

Welcome to Blog Giveaway Entries 101

Before we begin, I want to say that each blog is unique and the blogger may set-up commenting preferences differently.  I have my blog set-up so that you don't not have to be a follower or have a blogger account to enter giveaways because I'm nice like that and don't want to exclude anyone.  Just remember to leave your e-mail address so I can get in touch with you when you win!

1. You find a giveaway you want to enter...I have plenty going on here. 

2. Check out the details of how you enter!  Most giveaways will have a 'mandatory entry' and there is a brief explanation of what sort of comment to leave.

3. Then, you will need to click to post a comment.  On my blog, it will look like this:

4. Leave your comment in the box, along with your e-mail address (I suggest writing it like this sweetharper [at] ymail [dot] com so spammer bots can't swipe it off my blog and start spamming you*) then hit "publish your comment".  Many blogs will also have a word verification to ensure that you're a real person, we like real people, so don't forget to look for that.

*Also, after giveaways are over, I always hide the previous comments left so that your e-mail address is no longer visible.

5. Additional entries! If you want to leave additional entries, you are welcome to do so, but be sure to leave a separate comment for each one.  Why? Because each one counts as an entry and when we get the winning number through random.org, we simply go down the row and count comments until we get to the winner.  Make your comments count and up your odds!

That is how to enter a blog giveaway...but a little secret...it is the same format for leaving a comment!  I post many things besides giveaways, and it's always nice to hear your feedback.  Next time you come across a Sweet Harper post that gets you thinking, leave me a comment.  Bloggers love to receive comments, that's what makes blogging fun!
